On June 25, 2011 Multiple Time World Champion Alexandre “Xande” Ribeiro conducted a Jiu-Jitsu Seminar at the Gracie Technics Jiu-Jitsu Academy in Honolulu, Hawaii.
The turnout for the seminar was great, with many of Oahu’s Jiu-Jitsu practitioners eager to learn the the champ.
Xande lead the group through a Ginastica Natural warmup to prepare them for the techniques he taught.
The seminar focused on cross body control and the fine details that allow you keep the weight and pressure on your opponent with ease and efficiency.
Xande transitioned from the cross body into the the back control and shared more ideas, techniques and submissions that would commonly occur when maintaining the position.
Xande answers a question about posture in the guard and shows the group his favorite method for opening the closed guard.
Thanks to all who attended the seminar, keep supporting the growth and unity of Jiu-Jitsu in Hawaii!
Black Belts in attendance: Todd Tanaka, Jeff “JD” Doner, Xande Ribeiro, Rylan Lizares, Eric Goo.
Special thanks to Xande Ribeiro and Eric Goo for making this seminar possible. Mahalo!
